WORK CONTEXT
Cesvi has been working in Venezuela since 2019, implementing projects in the field of emergency and protection including child protection and prevention of SGBV.
Cesvi is currently implementing projects in Caracas DC and Miranda State, in Zulia, Falcon and Amazonas in consortium with local and international partners, with institutional funding (UN, ECHO).
Job Description
The main duty station will be the Country Office in Venezuela (Caracas), with frequent field visits country-wide.
The collaboration will start in January 2025
The Head of Mission will report to the Regional Manager.
We welcome applications from national candidates. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with CESVI’s Terms of Employment for employees on Expat or national contract.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Coordination and overall supervision of the Country’s programmes and procedures
- Proposal Writing and Donor Relations
- Act in accordance with national legislation
- Lead in the definition and development of Venezuela programme strategy
- Coordination and representation with stakeholders, donors, institutions, local and international partners
- Implementation of Safeguarding policies –Adult at Risk/Child Safeguarding/PSEA
- Security Management
- Human Resources management
- Management of Cesvi offices, goods, documentation and procurement, supervision and coordination of potential opening of new offices
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- University degree or post graduate degree, preferably in International Development/Humanitarian sector and/or Psychology/Social Sciences
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the NGO environment
- Extensive experience of working within a senior management role within a complex country programme in recovery and emergency response/in fragile state/protracted crises
- Experience of managing multi-donor and multi-site programs
- Familiarity with the following sectors: protection, GBV
- Strong project writing skills and the ability to develop policies, plans, and strategies for implementation.
- Proven leadership and management experience with a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting, including active mentoring and coaching
- Solid diplomatic skills with the ability to manage a variety of internal and external relationships,
- Self-motivated, proactive, resilient and able to work independently.
- Highly result-oriented with the ability to manage workload and stress
- Good capacity of Security management
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- High proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken)
DESIRABLE
- Post degree specialization in international cooperation/protection/GBV.
- Previous working experience in Venezuela, and/or other Latin American countries.
- Previous experience in implementing humanitarian projects in partnership with local NGOs and in capacity building of local entities.
- Previous experience in risky and hostile countries/environments.

HEALTH SAFEGUARDING
Cesvi pays particular attention to safeguarding the health of all the human resources of the Organisation. Therefore, in order to protect its staff, an assessment of their suitability for the position in each mission is carried out before departure. Such assessment is done by the Occupational Doctor of the Organisation, who will also examine the vaccination coverage.
